First off, a little bragging. I finally got a new computer. It's another mac mini.

New mini on the right, old on the left.

The old, battle worn mini looks on in disgust at its replacement.
Seriously the original mac mini and I have been through a lot together. I've put more miles on that thing than it could have possibly ever imagined, including a 30 minute documentary. In fact, it was after that project that I realized that a G4 mac mini was not going to cut it anymore. Thanks to the generosity of my parents, I was able to get a new one.
What's to become of the old mini? Well, as soon as I can figure out how exactly to go about this, I'm going to throw linux on it and have it replace the P4 Dell monstrosity that likes to eat power like no other that's sitting on this desk. I'll turn it into a file/print/development server. But that project will have to wait.
That little bit of bragging aside, this week classes begin again, and hopefully, for the last Fall semester I'll ever have classes, ever. It's not that I haven't enjoyed my stay at the U, but honestly enough is enough. I have people, though, asking me why I want to leave and telling me I should milk it for what it's worth. Well, to be honest, living on a student shoestring budget has taken it's toll, and I just want out.
Part of my plan for this semester is to keep track of my school projects here on the blog. I'm taking two advanced production classes, and both of those are rather involved projects, so you'll be hearing about them as time goes on.
See you all next week!

Hi C
Congratulations on nearing the end. I'm looking forward to future postings about your progress.
Oooooh! Nothing like a new toy to offset the beginning of semester doldrums.
